Volunteer Fair

Time: 10:30 am- 1:00 pm 

Description: Join the Volunteer Center of Cedar Valley and the Office of Community Engagement as we host nonprofit organizations from across the Cedar Valley. This is a great opportunity to learn about volunteer opportunities in the Cedar Valley. 

Community of Practice

The Office of  Community Engagement is hosting a Community of Practice (CoP) for community engaged faculty. This CoP is designed for faculty that are considering embedding or are currently embedding, community engaged learning opportunities into their courses. We welcome the experienced and those just getting started with community engaged learning. The focus will be on sharing best practices, supporting each other in our shared goals, building community, and expanding our own engagement in the Cedar Valley community. First/last meetings will be in person and the others on Zoom. 

Dates: 4th Wednesday of the month for 6 months: Sept., Oct., Nov., Jan., Feb, and March.

Description: Faculty, staff, and students are invited to meet nonprofit community leaders to create partnerships that will support faculty research and scholarship, build service-learning opportunities to complement classroom instruction, and introduce students to service projects. Nonprofit community leaders are invited to meet faculty, staff, and students to create partnerships that will build capacity for their organizations, mission, programs, and services.
