Volunteer Center of Cedar Valley

Volunteer Center of Cedar Valley 

Sign up to become a member of the Volunteer Center of the Cedar Valley (VCCV). By creating an account with the VCCV you can receive information about volunteer opportunities in the Cedar Valley specifically tailored to your interest and availability. Volunteer Tuesdays 

Every Tuesday, the Service and Leadership Council in cooperation with the Volunteer Center of Cedar Valley, have organized opportunities for students to get involved in the local community and give back through volunteering. Each Volunteer Tuesday will include two sessions that you can choose from, 3:30-5:30pm and 5:30-7:30pm.  Click on Volunteer Tuesday above to find out more! 

ReStore Volunteer 

The ReStore is a discount home improvement store that sells donated building materials to the general public. Proceeds help build Habitat for Humanity homes in your community. The ReStore will offer new opportunities for volunteers who want to do something other than build on the construction site. Volunteers can now sign up online for ReStore volunteer orientation and ReStore volunteer opportunities. To find out more click on ReStore Volnteer above. 

UNI-CUE needs Volunteers 

UNI-CUE needs volunteers to serve as tutors in its Tutoring Center, which has a waiting list of K through12 students who need tutoring assistance. UNI-CUE accepts college students, high school students, faculty, staff and retirees as volunteer tutors. Living Learning Opportunity with Western Home 

Western Home Communities is now accepting applications for a Student in Residence for 2017-2018. The student selected will live at Stanard Family Assisted Living (11th and Grove St., Cedar Falls); pay $100-$150 rent, and spend 10-15 hours a week actively engaged with residents.

The student selected will receive:

  1. A private room
  2. A 15 meals a week meal plan
  3. Great neighbors in a safe, study-friendly atmosphere

Students must be in good academic standing, sophomore class standing or higher, complete the application process including a full background check, TB test and interview process.
